From Our Farm to Your Table, With Thanks

It’s the time of year to give thanks! On the farm, we are especially thankful as we enjoy this changing season which signals the end of several months of hard work.

Thanks From Our Fields

When we plant crops in the spring, we spend time ensuring the ground is prepared. We dig holes for new trees, get our hands dirty in the soil and lean on shovels, enjoying the quiet satisfaction of starting another year of homegrown food.

We use natural pest control (like guinea fowl and chickens) and natural fertilizer (like rabbit and chicken poop), we water and watch as the sun warms the earth in eager anticipation for growth.

While we wait, we continue to care for the animals on our farm. Cows, pigs, sheep, and goats (to name a few) need food and water every day. Rain, sun, snow or heat we spend time ensuring our animals have what they need to thrive.

When autumn rolls around and we bring in the bounty, we give thanks! We are thankful for the opportunity to plant, grow and harvest. It has been months since we started but it feels like yesterday. And we want to share what we have grown so others can enjoy it too!

We are very thankful to be able to provide good nutritious homegrown food for your family this growing season. We are thankful for all we have and all we can share.

And we are thankful for you!

Thank you to those who came into our marketplace. Thank you to those who purchased homegrown vegetables and fruit or homemade breads and desserts. Thank you to those who came to learn more from our workshops. Thank you to those who brought their children to learn a new life skill or play in our play area.

We are thankful for the connections we’ve made, new and returning faces, conversations over the till and excitement as people discover something new. We look forward to seeing more of you and your family in the future as you spend more time at the farm.

With thanks, Generations Marketplace
