About the event

If this is your first time going through Winter with your hive(s) or your bees perished last year, then this practical workshop is for you. Daniel Kneblewski will share his Fall and Winter Management Beekeeping program with you. You will learn how to improve your bee's health and success in surviving through our Canadian winters. This local and custom program is based on the Ontario Beekeeping Manual and the experiences gained from master beekeepers and breeders. You will leave this beekeeping workshop knowing the following:

  • How to react to nectar flow dearth and when to start feeding.
  • How to read frames and perform inspections with tips and tricks.
  • How to treat mites and monitor the hive’s health.
  • Troubleshooting for non-typical situations.
  • Winter Wrapping and feeding
  • Doing your spot checks, estimating survival rates, and planning for next year.

Daniel Kneblewski has developed this workshop because Winter can be the scariest time for beginner beekeepers. If your bees have perished, it can be devastating and demotivating. With an integrated program, you and bees will have greater success. In this workshop, he will present the slideshow and perform example inspections. The demonstrations will include winter wrapping, hive arrangements, and other techniques with tips and tricks. A handout with links, references, checklists, calculations, and much more will be provided.

$25.00+tax per person ($28.25)

Payment can be completed in advance by e-transfer to generationsmarketplacealc@gmail.com and is required within one week of registering to secure spot in class. Space is limited.
