We’ll dive into the concept of weeds—often misunderstood and labeled as unwanted invaders. You’ll learn how many of these “weeds” are, in fact, native species that play critical roles in the ecosystem. You’ll also discover how non-native species, though often categorized as invasive, can still provide benefits to wildlife and humans.

On our farm, we’ve embraced these plants as valuable allies. From improving soil health and creating vital biomass, to attracting beneficial insects and offering nutritious, edible options—these weeds are essential to our gardening practice.

By the end of the class, you'll gain the knowledge and confidence to identify and honour these often-overlooked plants, recognizing their true value in your landscape. Whether you’re looking to boost biodiversity, improve soil health, or simply expand your gardening knowledge, this class is for you.
