About the event
Whether you're living off-grid or just love a hands-on, self-sufficient lifestyle, learning how to cut hair at home is a valuable skill for any homesteader. Join Markie Perrier, a seasoned hairdresser with over a decade of experience, as she shares her approachable, confidence-building method for cutting hair at home.
In this workshop, Markie will guide you through two foundational cuts: a classic men’s (or boy’s) haircut and a basic women’s/long hair trim — perfect for parents, partners, or anyone wanting to keep their household trimmed up without the trip to the salon.
You’ll learn:
How to properly hold and use your scissors and comb
Tips on posture for comfort and precision
Essential tools and budget-friendly alternatives
How to section and approach a cut step-by-step
How to work with your child (or partner!) during a cut
Live demonstrations on male and female models
This is all about practical, real-life haircutting made simple. You'll leave with new skills, greater confidence, and one more step toward self-reliance.
